Okay all you single ladies and gents, this one is for you. Time and time again when it comes to relationships I hear people say, “I’m just looking for my best friend.” Let’s get one thing straight..no you are not. Would you go to a bar with your best girl friend or guy friend, all the while be on the lookout for that friend’s replacement? I’ll go ahead and answer this..the answer is “No.”

People often make the mistake of being TOO broad with their search criteria. I’m not just talking about their dating profile searches, I’m talking about their wants in general when it comes to a partner. As an advocate for the law of attraction, and knowing just how powerful it can be, if you’re going to do the work of sending off this vibration to the universe, then you should get really clear. Having clarity around what you want will help you to set the parameters around what you know will and will not be what you are willing to put your time and energy into.

For example, if you want a partner who is funny, what type of funny? Do you like sarcastic, more slapstick? Maybe just want someone who appreciates your kind of humor. This sounds petty, and I get it. However, the reality is that if you don’t specify, you may end up with a lot of dark humor dates that although might be spot on for someone else, just isn’t for you.

The point is, that the more clear you are on what you want, the more directed your energy will be in finding that right partner. That’s not to say that you need to get crazy with the nit picks..”well, she was 5’5, and not 5’6.” Keep it real everyone. Focus on the important things. When you are in alignment and clear and what is important to you in a significant other, the universe will hear you loud and clear…and so will your friends. Blind dates and set ups become a lot easier to make…just saying. 🙂
